Uniform Customs Code corrected and amended

On 8 June 2017, the European Commission published corrections and amendments to the Uniform Customs Code Implementing Regulation. The amendments have been issued in the Official Journal and the new rules will enter into force on the 14 June 2017.

The amendments include:

  1. The rules to publish a long-term supplier’s declaration have been clarified and simplified
  2. The exporters have more time allotted for obtaining a Registered Exporter (REX) number for the purposes of trade facilitation agreements, principally for the EU-Canada agreement.
  3. International Road Transport is better secured in financial terms
  4. The rules for designating the customs office of exit in cases of export followed by transit of exercise goods have been clarified.
