Jonathan Corrieri is a Maltese qualified lawyer and a LL.M graduate of the Leiden International Tax Centre in the Netherlands. He also holds a diploma in trust law and administration. Prior to co-founding Corrieri Cilia with Dr Silvio Cilia, Jonathan was head of the corporate tax department of a leading Maltese international business law firm as well as tax manager of an international trust and corporate services provider.
Jonathan’s main areas of professional expertise include international tax planning and corporate law. He has been particularly involved in assisting clients on the design and implementation of international trading, holding and financing structures involving Maltese entities, tax exempt shipping structures, the re-domiciliation of companies to and from Malta, aircraft chartering and leasing, finance leasing of super yachts, Internet gaming operations as well as cross border mergers in the EU. Jonathan is also a director and serves on the board of directors of a number of international business companies and funds based in Malta. Jonathan is also a member of the International Fiscal Association, the Malta Institute of Financial Services Practitioners and of the Chamber of Advocates of Malta.
