Silvio Cilia is a Maltese qualified lawyer and founding partner at Corrieri Cilia. Silvio was awarded a doctorate in law from the University of Malta and an LL.M from the renowned Leiden International Tax Centre in the Netherlands. He also holds a diploma in trust law and administration.
Silvio is first and foremost a specialist in indirect taxation and international tax planning. His areas of expertise include advising international clients on all spheres of Value Added Tax and Customs Law, in particular international business involving goods and services, banking and financial services, internet gaming, blockchain and FinTech, intellectual property, yacht leasing and aviation. His professional experience also includes advising and assisting clients on the international tax aspects and implementation of Maltese trading and holding companies, funds, trusts and foundations.
He also serves on the board of directors of a number of companies and collective investment schemes based in Malta. Silvio is a member of the International Fiscal Association, the Malta Institute of Financial Services Practitioners, the Chamber of Advocates of Malta and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
