ZB.com, the world’s fifth largest cryptocurrency exchange by traded value, is the latest company to announce that it will be establishing its presence in Europe by launching an office in Malta, further cementing the country’s reputation as the “Blockchain Island.”
According to a press release issued by the company, an exchange is set to be launched in September with support from Malta’s banks. Initially, the exchange will offer crypto-to-crypto trading, but will seek to offer a fiat-to-crypto exchange in the future.
“Malta is perhaps the world’s most progressive and forward-thinking nation in DLT, crypto and fintech, and we are very excited to be part of the Blockchain Island. We are confident we will be able to announce our live operations soon.”

Parliamentary Secretary Silvio Schembri welcomed ZB.com to Malta in a tweet, and further stated that the company is expected to invest €20 million within its first three years of operations, as well as create 150 job opportunities.
